Tell HN: Tinder banned me for sending a Google Maps link

Yeah, that really just happened. I was in a conversation with a match, sent a Google Maps link followed by a suggested time and didn't get a reply. That's when I noticed that Tinder started acting weird. I can swipe despite having exhausted my daily limit, can open conversations with matches but can't open any of their profiles (view jumps back immediately). I can still logout and log back in. Support replied with "account got banned because of terms of use or community guidelines violation", that the decision was made after "thorough consideration" (nonsense, it was an automated ban) and that they can't help me. I assume I got caught in their anti-spam algorithm and got a shadowban.

I don't have any hope on getting this resolved soon, if at all. I'm pretty bummed because now I won't get to meet the cute woman. I feel bad because she'll wonder why I suddenly unmatched (from her point of view), she was eager to get to know me. Furthermore I might not be able to ever use Tinder again, all because of a shitty algorithm from a company that doesn't care at all. I even paid for Platinum before.

Use a new phone number and hop back on.

Unfortunately it's not that simple. I'd have to use a new phone, a new number, a new Google account and an all new set of pictures I've never used before on Tinder. Otherwise the new account will get instantly banned too.
